...And Baby Makes Three!

Our son Ben is now almost 4 months old and beginning to sleep longer at night. He has learned to smile and is also beginning to laugh, although it is still a silent laugh. He goes with Christy when she takes care of the eye doctor’s landscape, and when she goes running during the day. He loves being tossed up into the air and caught by Doug’s strong hands, and either parent will do when he wants to curl up in our arms and take a nap. He cries only occasionally and is generally a happy baby, smiling at anyone who will smile first.

Ben is saving the world one poop at a time in his cloth diapers, and still loves mom’s milk. We wash his diapers ourselves- the water is recyclable and even wash cloths used as wipes go in with his clothes. We plan on making his food when he does transition to real foods because it is healthier and cheaper, and making lots of things for him, like wood blocks to a backyard fort, when he gets older. The best stuff is homemade, plus it is less expensive and more special.

His room at the new house is the first one to be painted with a gorgeous whisper yellow and has new window blinds, although he is still sleeping in his travel bassinet in our room.

His baptism was on the 15th and his aunt and uncle and cousin are his God-family. They are very excited to play such a special role in his life and enjoy having all of us over occasionally. His cousin thinks the world of him and brings him books and other toys from his own collection.

We are looking forward to celebrating our first Thanksgiving and Christmas as the three of us. We have so much to be thankful for. Ben is a healthy and happy baby, we have a “new” home, we live closer to where Doug works, and Christy is getting more sleep as Ben sleeps longer through the nights.

For those of you who have been asking what Ben wants for Christmas… He is only just starting to like rattles and we have lots of those, so board books. We also have a college account set up for him already if you would like to help send him to college in the future.

I am sure that some of you have plenty of questions that this didn’t cover, so feel free to email us.
